Looking back on the past year!

A few days ago I was thinking back to this time last year and at that time I didn’t think I was going to be where I am today.

As I said before last year was a bad time for me mentally. I was suffering with depression and anxiety all due to stress at work. I nearly left my old job this time last year but I didn’t because I didn’t see what the job was actually doing to me. Everyone around me was telling me I needed to do something to help myself.

There was a few months that I felt better and more myself, but then in October the same feeling in my head came back again. I didn’t want to do anything,my moods were quite low most of the time and if I was feeling good it wouldn’t take long for that to change again, I didn’t want to be around people and if I went into a low mood I had to be by myself. It was when all this started again that I did do something and I applied for another job.

I started my new job in January and since then I have never felt better. I occasionally have moments of anxiety still but not at all like I did before.

I then decided to start this blog and I am so happy that I did because this has been the other thing that I needed to help me. I never really done anything for myself before and when I thought about blogging I couldn’t do it,but I have been doing it since January and I’m so glad I did as I have had something to concentrate my time on when I’m not at work and not doing other things.

I have now got 226 followers on this blog and want to thank everyone for the support that they give,as it just gives me more encouragement to carry on blogging.

Favourite apps to use for blogging

A lot of the time I am not at home to be on my laptop so I have to use my phone for blogging stuff,I thought I would share my favourite apps that I use for blogging.

WordPress
I use the WordPress app everyday, you can use it to catch up on latest blog posts from the blogs that you follow, check your blogs stats etc.You can even use it to write a blog post and schedule/publish it when it is ready which is a feature I have use quite a lot as I’m not at home very often.

Twitter
I use this to share my blog posts when they are published. So many people are on twitter and I use it to follow people who’s blogs I follow as it’s a great way to keep up/in touch with them other than on their blog.

Instagram
Again same as twitter really I use it to share blog posts that I have written and follow so many other accounts as well.

Bloglovin’
This is a great way to share your blog posts and keep up to date with blogs you follow, and what I like is I can follow other blogs that aren’t on WordPress as well so as I’m able to see latest blog posts from them also.

Pinterest
Their is so much to see on Pinterest, you can search for something and will instantly find it.If you are stuck for inspiration you will definitely find it on Pinterest,I also share my blog on there also.

Buffer
I started using buffer a few weeks ago,you can link it to social media accounts and post from the app,I use it to schedule posts for while I’m at work or doing something where I may not be able to check social media.

Canva
I use canva on my laptop to make my blog post headers, when I seen that they had an app also I had to get it,as it is great if I am writing a blog post whilst away from home using my phone I can still make a header as I would if I was at home.

YouTube!!

So I’ve done it…I’ve made a YouTube channel…and posted a video!!

I wanted to make a video to go alongside my blog post on my May bullet journal set up which you can read here.

Here is the video that i made, check it out.

And here is a link to my YouTube channel.

I want to do more videos on my bullet journal as well as my blog posts, and will be doing other videos as well.

May Bullet Journal set-up

I had a lot of fun setting up my bullet journal for this month, so thought I would write a post to show you all how I set up for the month of May. Its not exactly how I want it right now but I’m working on it and will get it how I want it with time.

IMG_0322

I’m using the Moleskine classic squared notebook.

IMG_0323

I started with making a key for my bullet journal that I can follow, and then moved on to my index pages.

IMG_0324IMG_0325

For the first actual page I done a year overview for 2017.

IMG_0326

I had to make a books to read page as I have so many books that I want to read, and once I have read each one I will colour the books in.

IMG_0327

Next is my May title page

IMG_0328I then have my monthly overview and habit tracker.

IMG_0329IMG_0330

I am keeping track of when I drink plenty of water each day, eat well, check Instagram, twitter and WordPress, publish a new blog post, and when I have read my book and eat breakfast as I very rarely eat in the morning but want to try and eat breakfast more.

I then made a page for my blog this includes blog post ideas that I have had during the month and then a blog stats tracker in the corner to track at the beginning of each month.

IMG_0331

This is followed by a page with goals that I have set myself.

And then the weekly spreads which aren’t perfect and I’ve got to add things to the weeks ahead as I have done each week of May already, and I can just add bits that I want when I want to.

IMG_0333IMG_0334IMG_0336IMG_0337IMG_0338

There is so much more that I want to gradually add into my bullet journal as there is other things that I know I want to keep track of, but that’s the best thing with a bullet journal you can add and take away things as much as you want, you only need to add what you need.

My weekend 6th and 7th May 2017!

I had the weekend off from work so I stayed with my boyfriend for the weekend.

Saturday

On Saturday we spent the day fishing,it was a really nice sunny day and it was so peaceful and relaxing to be sat outside for the day not having to worry about anything else.Even had sausage sandwiches for lunch and then burgers for dinner whilst fishing with endless cups of tea throughout the day.We packed up at about 8:30pm and went home, and just spent the rest of the night relaxing and watching TV.

Sunday

Sunday was more of a chilled relaxed day, I hadn’t had much sleep on Saturday night so I was really tired and not really up for doing anything.

We went to a local café for breakfast, which was delicious.

We then went to our friends house as it had been his birthday on Saturday but  due to us fishing we hadn’t been able to go and see him so went round Sunday as we had a present for him, we stayed there for the afternoon, then went down to where we had been fishing on Saturday as a friend was fishing there, and stayed there for about an hour before going home, then we just relaxed for the rest of the evening watching TV.

Bullet Journal

Ever since I first seen a blog post on this I have been really intrigued by them, even more the past few days.I have spent the past few days reading blog posts and watching YouTube videos on bullet journals and starting one etc. I watched and read so much that it made me want to start one myself so much.

I went out to Waterstones and bought the Moleskine hard cover squared notebook, this was £13.99.

IMG_0312

I also bought some papermate ink joy pens in different colours so as I will be able to add some colour to my bullet journal, these were £1.50 in Tesco. I also got some washi tape from WHSmith for £2.79.

The bullet journal was originally created by Ryder Carroll, to find out more about bullet journal I recommend going over to the website bulletjournal.com. There is also so many blog posts and YouTube videos that you can read and watch so definitely check some of those out as well. There is also loads on Pinterest as well.

I’m going to make a start on my bullet journal now and I will be doing more posts on this to show how I set mine up etc.

I would also like to know if anyone else uses a bullet journal and where you get inspiration from for different spreads.

April Favourites!

Today is the 1st May, where is the year going??

But 1st day of the month means it’s time for a monthly favourites post…so here are my April favourites.

Ed Sheeran-Divide

Divide_coverI have been absolutely loving this album and listening to it non-stop, even in my boyfriends car, so he now knows all the songs just as well as me haha, but he does like Ed Sheeran so I can get away with playing his music in the car.

Fast and Furious 8

fast-and-furious-8

I went to the cinema for work to watch this film, I love all the films in the series so really wanted to see this anyway. The film was so good with a good storyline, but was definitely missing something with no Paul Walker this time(RIP).

Lee Stafford chopstick styler

chopstick stylerI have wanted these for a while but have never got them, my boyfriend bought them as an Easter present, and I love them. The styler produces really tight curls which look incredible.

Lindt Bunny

Lindt is my favourite chocolate and I love when the gold bunnys go into the shops, my boyfriend bought me one of these for Easter and then I somehow ended up with another two as well haha, all of these have very sadly been eaten and I haven’t got any left.

Nivea express hydration primer

IMG_0294I have already mentioned this in a post recently, but I have really been loving this during April as my skin had been felling really dry, after using this for a few weeks my skin has returned back to normal and doesn’t feel dry at all, so I have been using this everyday under my makeup.
